Facilities Support Associate - 2nd Shift at Star International Holdings – Smithville, Tennessee

The Facilities Support Associate is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and organized production and facility floors using industrial floor-cleaning equipment (including a Zamboni-style floor scrubber). This role also provides general support to the Maintenance Department and assists with various facility and operational tasks as needed during 2nd shift. This position plays a key role in supporting a safe, efficient, and well-maintained manufacturing environment.

Duties and responsibilities

Floor & Facility Cleaning

• Operate industrial floor-cleaning equipment (Zamboni or similar ride-on scrubber) and other cleaning equipment to clean production, warehouse, and common areas.
• Perform routine sweeping, scrubbing, and debris removal to maintain safe walking and working surfaces and environment.
• Identify and report spills, hazards, or facility issues to Maintenance or Leadership.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report mechanical or operational concerns.

Maintenance & Facilities Support

• Support the Maintenance Department with basic tasks as assigned (e.g., shop cleanup, part runs, tool organization, painting, light repairs).
• Assist with facility upkeep such as trash removal, material movement, and general plant cleanliness.
• Help prepare production or facility areas for projects, repairs, or inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support 2nd shift operations and facility needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, facilities, maintenance, or industrial cleaning is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate powered cleaning equipment or willingness to be trained.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial conditions.
• Requires adherence to all safety policies and PPE requirements.
