About This Position

Description:

Position Summary:

The Senior Procurement Specialist under the direct supervision of the Procurement Manager will communicate internally with various departments as well as our external supplier base. This position will provide procurement direction to the Cross Functional Teams and Supply Chain Department to ensure optimal sourcing decisions for complex and/or critical categories. Must be able to perform and respond in an extremely fast paced, flexible, team-oriented, and collaborative environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives via respective data sharing and monitoring, along with relevant follow up activities.
  • Facilitate Supply Chain Sustainability Activities via complying and reporting on ESG questionnaires, reporting on carbon footprint reduction programs, and contributing to other SC sustainability initiatives when directed to support overall company ESG program
  • Support sourcing plans for key commodities and/or products using strategic thinking and cross functional collaboration.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers to support both new product development and cost savings initiatives based on total cost and performance analysis.
  • Identify and negotiate with suppliers to provide the best pricing, serviceability and quality leveraging tools such as commodity trends and market conditions.
  • Manage suppliers to monitor and achieve Corporate Goals which include Fill Rate, Inventory Reductions, Cost Savings, E&O, and Sales
  • Manage strategic initiatives that monitor and improve supplier performance by implementing corrective action and continuous improvement plans.
  • Facilitate clear and timely written or verbal communication, escalating critical where required and providing solutions to management.
  • Maintain and update reports of progress and provide an analysis of projects as required by the Procurement and/or Cross Functional Team.
  • Participate as a cross functional team member, actively working toward successful implementation and completion of team goals and objectives.
  • Required to maintain system data through Team and functional processes.
Requirements:

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business discipline required
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • Data Mining and analytical thinking and reasoning abilities. Power BI experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers.
  • Sense of urgency and negotiation skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, resourceful, and work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to initiate, communicate and action to resolve issues both internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite – Advanced PowerPoint and Excel Skills preferred.
  • Ability to network within a cross functional environment
  • Must adhere to and maintain ethical business standards and make unbiased business decisions
