MLT at Upson Regional Medical Center – Thomaston, Georgia

Analyzes various laboratory procedures to obtain data for physicians to use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. May be called upon to draw blood on patients of all ages, from neonate to elderly; know the importance of age-specific needs as defined in the age-specific competency checklist.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Associates Degree OR Bachelors Degree, depending on certification level

License, Certifications, Etc:

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists

(ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Associations of Bioanalysis) or equivalent.
