Summer Resident Assistant (RA)

Position Description and Benefits:

A Summer Resident Assistant (RA) is a student staff member who reports to the Student Life team. These students serve as a direct resource for the summer students and camps at Harrisburg University. The job duties are night and weekend heavy with flexibility for applicants to take summer classes during the day. In addition, applicants will perform rotating on-call shifts on a weekly basis. Housing will be provided for the summer from May to August. This is a Summer 2026 position.

Responsibilities

Duties listed here are a sample, more can be added but not limited to:

  • Serving on-call in rotational duty schedule.
  • Serve as administrative assistants on summer student life projects
  • Hosting one event per month.
  • Assisting in the room turnover process.
  • Managing check-ins and check-outs for students and camps.
  • Doing evening checks for camps and helping run camp events.
  • Help maintain the safety and security of summer students.
  • Making sure housing policies are being followed and enforced.
  • Being receptive and open to other duties as reasonably assigned by the Student Life team.
