$110,000 - $190,000 yearly

• Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
• Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
• Get the appropriate legal documents ready for clients, such as brief, motions, and pleadings, as well as correspondence
• Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome
• Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks

• Manage a docket of personal injury cases from intake through resolution
• Prepare demands, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents
• Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
• Develop a case strategy and advise clients accordingly
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance carriers
• Supervise support staff as necessary (e.g., paralegals, case managers)
• Maintain accurate and timely case records using legal case management software

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment
• Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
• Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)
• Communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Colorado and in good standing
• Minimum of 3–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury
• Demonstrated trial and courtroom experience
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
• Client-focused, ethical, and driven to achieve justice

Admitted to the Bar in 1991, Timothy Bussey is an experienced criminal and civil trial lawyer who has been a prosecutor, defense attorney, Active-Duty Judge Advocate with the US Air Force, and a District Attorney in El Paso and Teller County. His knowledge of criminal law can help you through the often-confusing process of being charged and arrested with felonies, drug crimes, and misdemeanors on or off military bases. Timothy Bussey’s experience as an Active-Duty Judge Advocate has also allowed him to provide skilled criminal defense to defendants charged on military bases, including Fort Carson, Peterson, Cheyenne Mountain, Schriever Air Force Base, and the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA).
