Barista at Ocean Reef Club – Key Largo, Florida

Summary: This position is the first impression of the Reef Treats – we need a friendly face, outgoing, positive attitude, friendly with kids, always smiling, good phone skill, can handle multi tasking between taking orders, answering phone with food orders, up selling food items, proper charging and making sure that the food tickets get signed, handling the phone sales and questions of the Reef Treats Menu, pulling and grouping food, delivery to table when time permits, cash handling and able to handle posi-touch computer point of sale. Good communication well organized and clean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Taking orders in person and via telephone

· Food prep and finishing food prior to it being picked up or delivered.

· Customer Skills

· Cash handling, being able to balance the drawer nightly.

· Under stand the service part of an open restaurant.

· Great communication skills and able to handle a fast paced work environment.

· Able to lift 25lbs and work clean & organized throughout the day.

Education and/or Experience

· Prior serving experience, serving and order taking

· Able to handle a knife for some food prep

· Able to read and coordinate food ticket groupings

· Cash/ticket point of sale

· Organization skills

Language Skills

Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments.

Reasoning Ability

· Able to up sale food items

· Speak & sale to guest about menu and specialty cake orders.

· Able to handle guest complaints if there are any.

· Remain calm cool and collected during peak business hours

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Florida State food service, responsible vender requirements.

Attendance, Appearance and Conduct:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines.

Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.

As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities. Associates who violate Club rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
