Certified Tumor Registrar at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

The Oncology Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cancer registry database in concordance with state and national guidelines. Job duties include: identification of patients with cancer; analysis and interpretation of the cancer site, extent, treatment, and follow-up of such patients; quality management of tumor registry data; data collection for patient care evaluation studies; queries of databases for data analysis, statistical reports, follow-up letter production, and state reporting. The Oncology Data Specialist reports to the Oncology Data Supervisor.

The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, adequate computer knowledge and a working familiarization with medical records. Certification by the National Cancer Registrars Association is required. Non-certified applicants will not be considered.
