Licensed Practical Nurse - Triage at Albany ENT & Allergy Services P C – Albany, New York

After training, Triage Nurses can work a hybrid schedule with one remote day per week.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Exercises judgment in making decisions regarding adherence to policy, sequence of work, modifies or adapts results to meet different conditions, and makes decisions based on clinical or regulatory policies and protocols.
• Screens and responds in a timely fashion to patient phone calls, directing to provider as needed.
• Prioritizes patient messages gathering all pertinent information for provider.
• Provides educational materials to patients regarding treatment, health promotion and disease prevention as directed by the physician/provider.
• Schedules appointments based on necessity/urgency by offering the earliest appointment available with each provider.
• Obtains all relevant information and/or diagnostic test information from patient and/or outside physicians, health facilities, staff, and vendors for providers’ review; ensures EHR is updated.
• Executes all provider orders as indicated, directs ordered testing to appropriate staff member, initiates appropriate follow up, and processes medication renewals.
• Performs post op calls in a timely manner.
• Obtains medication authorizations and provides patient education for prescribed medications as needed.
• Completes Prior Authorizations.
• Handles patient portal messages and incoming faxes for nursing staff.

• Must possess a New York State license and current registration for Licensed Practical Nursing
• 1-2 years’ experience in outpatient setting preferred
• BLS certificate required
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
• Proficient computer skills with excellent attention to detail, organization and time management skills
• Ability to handle a busy office environment

COMPENSATION: The compensation range for this position is $24.00 to $29.50. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
