About This Position

Job Title: Pallet Jack Operator

Location: AAPP Plant – Greeley, CO

Department: Warehouse

Pay Rate: $17.50/ hour

POSITION PURPOSE

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near warehouse, plant, or worksite. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand or pallet jack.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.

Distributes items to production workers or production line.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.

Uses computer to enter records.

Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.

Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.

Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.

Prepares parcels for mailing.

Maintains inventory records.

DUTIES AND TASKS

Duties and tasks are simple and repetitive. Follows existing policies, practices and procedures. Refers questions and problems to higher levels. Identifies and reports quality concerns.

SUPERVISION GIVEN AND RECEIVED

Works under direct supervision. Follows detailed instructions and reports any deviation to lead/supervisor.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Skills/ Knowledge:

Requires the ability to learn established quality and quantity requirements. Acquires job skills to perform very routine tasks.

Language Ability:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Personal Competencies:

Willingly asks questions and seeks direction. Works with others from other work are-as. Understands and meets quality standards. Supports new ideas and helps to implement them.

6:00am to 2:30pm Monday - Friday - 1st Shift
8:00pm to 4:30am Monday - Friday - 2nd Shift
