About This Position
Position Summary
The Facility & Fleet Coordinator is responsible for maintaining safe operations at the facility, overseeing inventory, supporting fleet maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory standards. This role includes performing preventative and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, coordinating repairs, and supporting daily operational needs.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFleet & Equipment- Drive commercial vehicles as assigned, including completing required pre‑trip inspections and logs.
- Ensure foremen and team members complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and maintain required documentation.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on company fleet vehicles and construction/striping equipment (e.g., trucks, trailers, skid steers, compressors, generators, blowers).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
- Conduct DOT inspections and maintain fleet compliance with applicable regulations.
- Track maintenance schedules, service intervals, and repair histories using the Whip Around system.
- Coordinate and/or perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility and yard following 5S standards.
- Coordinate, schedule, and document all facility repairs and maintenance.
- Perform general maintenance and support facility upgrades as required.
- Maintain PPE inventory levels and issue PPE to employees as needed.
- Prepare required materials for crews and equipment prior to job start times.
- Issue purchase orders for approval and maintain min/max levels established by management.
- Ensure accuracy of all inventoried items, including monthly counts.
- Obtain quotes, schedule vendors, and monitor third‑party service work for quality and cost control.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to read and follow instructions, procedures, and plan documents.
- Basic math competency.
- Ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks or projects.
- Ability to read tape measures and basic technical documents.
- Ability to apply knowledge and problem‑solving skills to achieve results.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet company Fleet Policy driver eligibility requirements with a satisfactory motor vehicle report.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Availability for on‑call needs.
- Current certifications: First Aid, CPR, AED, Flagger, and Forklift.
- Valid CDL driver’s license.
- ASE Mechanic Certification.
- Diesel Mechanic Certification.
