Fabricator Associate – Fence Distribution at Sharon Fence Company – Sharon, Pennsylvania

Position Overview

The Gate Fabricator Associate is responsible for assembling and fabricating chain link gates used in residential, commercial, and industrial fencing projects. This position focuses on stretching chain link fabric onto gate frames and installing the proper hardware and fittings to produce durable, high-quality gates ready for distribution. The role requires attention to detail, safe use of tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a warehouse or yard environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Gate Fabrication

• Stretch and secure chain link fabric onto gate frames using the correct hardware, fittings, and fasteners
• Install tension bars, tension bands, brace bands, and other required components
• Cut, measure, and fit chain link fabric to match gate frame dimensions
• Assemble single and double drive gates according to specifications

Tools & Equipment

• Safely operate fabrication tools and equipment including grinders, drills, saws, and stretching tools
• Maintain and inspect tools regularly to ensure proper working condition
• Follow proper safety procedures when using equipment

Quality Control

• Inspect gate assemblies to ensure proper tension, alignment, and secure installation of fittings
• Verify finished gates meet company quality standards and order specifications
• Identify and report defective materials or fabrication issues

Material Handling

• Move gate frames, chain link rolls, and hardware as needed for fabrication
• Assist with loading and staging finished gates for delivery or customer pickup
• Maintain organized workstations and storage areas for materials and hardware

Yard & Shop Maintenance

• Keep fabrication area clean, organized, and free of hazards
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE
• Assist with general yard or warehouse tasks when fabrication demand is lower

Qualifications

• Previous fence fabrication, welding, construction, or warehouse experience preferred
• Familiarity with chain link fencing components and hardware is a plus
• Ability to read basic measurements and follow fabrication instructions
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive hand movements
• Ability to work in a warehouse or yard environment in varying temperatures

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Full-time hours with potential for occasional overtime depending on workload
