About the role
The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously improving the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) programs across assigned construction projects, with a focus on ensuring compliance, promoting a proactive safety culture, and preventing incidents. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial construction safety and have experience supporting data center construction or operations.
What you'll do
Safety Program Oversight
- Implement owner EHS policies and standards
- Verify GC compliance with contract safety requirements
- Participate in project planning and risk reviews
Contractor Oversight
- Review site safety plans
- Review critical lift plans
- Review energization plans
- Verify safety staffing levels
- Evaluate contractor safety performance
Field Verification
- Conduct regular safety inspections
- Verify THA / JHA quality
- Monitor high-risk activities
- Observe energization and commissioning
Incident Management
- Participate in incident investigations
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Issue lessons learned
- Monitor corrective actions
Reporting
- Track leading indicators
- Track incident metrics
- Provide safety reports
Qualifications
- 7–10 years Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience
- 5+ years construction safety experience
- Experience on large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
- Experience with multi-contractor environments
Preferred experience:
- Data center or mission-critical construction
- Electrical infrastructure and energization
- Commissioning and turnover phases
Electrical Safety
- NFPA 70E
