Assistant Director at Little People's College – Fairhaven, Massachusetts

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Director to join our leadership team in providing a nurturing, engaging, and high-quality early learning environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting educators, ensuring each child’s experience is positive and meaningful, and fostering trusting, supportive relationships with families. Education & Credentials:

• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required)
• Matriculation into a Bachelor’s Degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required)
• Must be Director Qualified under EEC regulations
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in an early childhood setting- preferred

Responsibilities:

• Support and mentor educators to ensure high-quality teaching practices and positive classroom environments
• Promote a developmentally-appropriate curriculum and daily schedule that encourage meaningful learning experiences for all children
• Foster strong, supportive partnerships with families built on trust, communication, and respect
• Collaborate with the Director to maintain compliance with EEC regulations/ policies and NAEYC standards
• Supervise, mentor and support ongoing professional development of educators
• Assist in maintaining program quality, documentation, and family communications
• Model and promote a positive, team-oriented culture throughout the program

Required Skills:

• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to support and guide educators
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with families, educators, and community partners
• Knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, EEC regulations and NAEYC standards
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment in decision-making
• Organizational and time management skills to balance administrative and classroom responsibilities
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork and professional growth
• Proficiency with technology and software, such as MS Office and ProCare
