Job Summary

The Director of Nursing leads a team of dedicated RN’s, LPN’s and Medication Aides in a residential substance use disorder treatment setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in planning, priority setting, and the development/implementation of policies and procedures for health care activities that comply with facility and contractual requirements as well as State, DEA, and CARF standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor orientation, in-service training, and continuing education with the nursing team.
  • Coordinate the development, provision, and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice in the state of Virginia.
  • Conduct recruitment/retention efforts for nursing service.
  • Prepare/submit reports as requested.
  • On-going chart reviews to ensure compliance with Federal/State/regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training, consultation and direction in dealing with difficult clients.
  • Participation/leadership in treatment team meetings as well as grievance and appeals meeting.
  • Participate in ongoing training per program/State/Federal requirements.
  • Provide assistance in ongoing in-house training requirements.
  • Manage the finances of the department, prepare and monitor budgets and spending to ensure department operates within allocated funds.
  • Order supplies as needed for the department.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and complete monthly staff schedule.
  • Perform other functions related to the position as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education / Credentials
  • Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia.
Experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in an inpatient/residential substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.
Knowledge / Skills
  • Supervisory skills required.
  • Leadership skills in decision making and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of CARF accreditation requirements.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of holistic addiction treatment clinical care requirements.
  • Ability to develop and implement holistic clinical program for patients with substance use disorder.
  • Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
Working Conditions
  • Direct care position
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Thursday 8:00am-6:30pm, some weekends, holidays and on-call work required

The pay range for this role is:
125,000 - 135,000 USD per year(Dumfries 3.5)
