The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.

About the role

The Public Relations & Communications Coordinator leads NMHC’s media relations, storytelling initiatives, and community engagement efforts. This role focuses on developing media opportunities, cultivating provider and staff relationships, capturing patient testimonials, and strengthening NMHC’s reputation throughout the region. This position serves as a primary relationship-builder between Marketing and clinical departments to ensure provider achievements, service line growth, and patient experiences are consistently and strategically shared. This position is on-site Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, to support in-person provider and staff engagement, patient interviews, media coordination, and community collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong interviewing, relationship-building, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.
• Healthcare knowledge/experience preferred.
