About This Position
The Distribution Professional is involved in packing products, picking orders, operating machinery and equipment, loading vehicles, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The Distribution Professional is expected to follow timelines and quality standards set by the company.
This is a position that requires working on the floor alongside fellow team members in order to fulfill the needs of the bakery. As such, this role requires an outstanding work ethic, a gritty “can do” attitude, operational excellence, and diligent work behavior. This is an entry level role, and we are happy to teach you all you need to know to succeed here. The Production Professional team propels the company forward by doing the daily work to the best of their ability and capacity. Each individual contribution is small but mighty. Requirements:Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Gain a solid working knowledge of the Bread Alone product line and related quality standards to ensure all products going out the door are up to those standards.
- Use and operate large and small pieces of equipment and machinery according to instructions (Kwik-Lok, detection systems, dollies and hand trucks, and other necessary equipment)
- Accurately follow order picking sheets in a timely manner
- Follow the instructions of Supervisors and Managers to maximize efficiency and accuracy of work flow.
- Adhere to a station specific checklist when setting up and breaking down the work areas.
- Perform quality control throughout the course of the day, follow reporting and record keeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
- Communicate with other Distribution Professionals, Supervisors and Managers to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Have a desire to help make sure Bread Alone delivers consistent and delicious products.
- Willing to problem solve and tackle obstacles head-on to ensure each task is completed with excellence.
- Follow all applicable Bread Alone safety, GMP, culture, and food safety standards
- Take care to maintain proper, safe equipment operation as set out in training materials and by supervisors and managers
- Notify supervisor if calibration, routine maintenance, or troubleshooting of any machinery is necessary
- Complete delegated tasks at assigned station
- Be an active participant in your professional development by communicating effectively with your manager around areas of growth that you feel enthusiastic about
- Report to the supervisor any issues that arise in the course of your work
Job Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods of time while executing tasks quickly and accurately
- Able to work in a physically demanding fast-paced environment
- Able to tolerate exposure to high levels of heat and cold
- Able to twist and bend repeatedly for long periods of time
- Respect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Able to pull, push, move and lift to waist level and carry awkward and shifting weights up to 50 pounds
- Able to work with, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner according to Bread Alone guidelines
- Able and willing to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and assigned uniform as required per company policy
- Willing to follow all safety guidelines set out by Bread Alone
- Willing to follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices which includes but are not limited to: Removing any visible or exposed piercings and body jewelry, personal accessories, false nails & refraining from makeup at work (ie. mascara or heavy foundation, lipstick)
- Willing to take responsibility for your own and others safety a well as follow safety rules and regulations and report any unsafe conditions to management
- The Bakery is open 365 days a year and team members must be willing to work consistently throughout the year which includes holidays and weekends
Compensation: $18.00/hr
Hour requirements: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
