Purchasing Manager at Hyper Solutions Inc – Richmond, Virginia

The Purchasing Manager at Hyper Solutions is responsible for leading purchasing operations, supplier performance, and inventory strategy across a rapidly scaling supply chain. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution to ensure materials flow efficiently across internal teams and external manufacturing partners.

This position plays a critical role in supporting Hyper’s growth by ensuring supply continuity, optimizing working capital, and improving supplier and inventory performance. The Purchasing Manager will partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and sourcing teams to build scalable systems that drive execution, speed, and reliability.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Supply Chain Specialists to execute purchasing operations
• Own purchase order execution aligned to production schedules and customer delivery requirements
• Manage supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery, cost competitiveness, and capacity readiness
• Drive inventory strategy to optimize inventory turns, reduce excess stock, and prevent backorders
• Lead KPI performance across purchasing and supply chain metrics (OTD, inventory accuracy, lead times, cost savings)
• Identify and remove cross-functional bottlenecks to improve execution speed and decision-making
• Partner with sourcing and supplier management teams on supplier onboarding, contract implementation, and performance improvement

Additional Responsibilities

• Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers on lead times, production readiness, and capacity planning
• Support mitigation strategies for supply risks, shortages, and quality issues
• Act as a stakeholder for NetSuite enhancements, including workflows, reporting, and planning processes
• Partner with data and systems teams to improve reporting accuracy and KPI visibility
• Develop SOPs, playbooks, and process documentation to improve consistency and scalability
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and apply lessons learned to future operations

What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day

• Reviewing and releasing purchase orders based on production demand and supply plans
• Communicating with suppliers to confirm order status, resolve delays, and manage lead times
• Monitoring inventory levels, identifying risks, and adjusting purchasing plans accordingly
• Tracking KPIs such as OTD, inventory turns, and supplier performance
• Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and logistics teams to resolve material or scheduling issues
• Supporting NetSuite updates, reporting, and data accuracy efforts

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, or operations within a manufacturing or complex environment
• Experience managing or leading teams in a fast-paced setting
• Strong understanding of procurement, supplier management, and inventory planning
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)

Preferred

• Experience in electrical infrastructure, data centers, or engineered-to-order environments
• Familiarity with supplier contracts, MSAs, and performance management frameworks
• Experience working with international suppliers and logistics
• PMP, CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification
