About This Position
Position Summary:
The Process Engineer is a part of the Process Engineering team at Huntsville Factory. This position is responsible for developing manufacturing processes, reducing labor costs, supporting new product launch, improving quality, and supporting the production and maintenance departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize a wide knowledge of machines for production including but not limited to: SMT, AOI, Selective Solder, ICT, and Conformal Coating.
- Define, develop, improve, and create manufacturing methods and processes.
- Develop and conduct experiments to prove or disprove hypothesis.
- Design and implement production and process improvement tooling.
- Develop machine programs for new products or product transfers.
- Execute plans to implement corrective actions for quality and cost reduction.
- Develop work force utilization for work flow, space requirements, ergonomics, and safety.
- Read specifications from drawing package/schematic and estimate labor costs, tooling, and equipment needs.
- Evaluate and select production materials and chemicals.
- Provide information for material specifications as well as design guidelines, workmanship standards, and process guidelines.
- All other duties as assigned by management to ensure the success of Futaba.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a four-year college or university required.
- Proficient with engineering related software and hardware, and competent with AutoCAD.
- Proficient MS Windows and Office skills, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook are required.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements:
- Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Further, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
- Advanced math skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
