Position Overview

The Head Women's Golf Coach oversees all aspects of the Women's Golf Team. This position is responsible for practice and player development, recruiting and team success while representing Bethel University in a Christ-like manner.

*This is a part-time position. NCAA Intercollegiate golf is a split season where in-season practices and tournaments are August - October and March - May.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Coaching and Development

a. Lead practice organization, planning, execution.

b. Lead and direct coaching staff in program/player development.

c. Create and maintain a culture that aligns with the mission of Bethel University and emphasizes a program culture that centers on Jesus.

d. Maintain a high commitment to academic excellence within the student-athletes in the sport program. Understand institutional, MIAC, and NCAA academic requirements to ensure academic progress and retention.

Recruitment

a. Actively Identify and recruit prospective student-athletes that fit the profile of Bethel University.

b. Work with University admissions to guide prospects through the admissions process.

c. Have retention rates that align with program goals and the department (average for current programs is 65-75%).

Manage Program Logistics

a. Oversee the logistics of team travel.

b. Ensure team operations follow NCAA and MIAC guidelines.

c. Ensure team operations follow institution policies and expectations.

d. Actively engage with alumni and cultivate relationships.

Qualifications

Travel: Regular travel to tournaments including outside Minnesota is required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office and outdoor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. Bending, lifting, walking and exposure to sun and weather are a regular part of this job.

Expected Hours of Work:

Regular weekend hours required for in-season tournaments. Practices typically occur on weekdays. This is a part-time .3 FTE position.
