Kona Kai San Diego Resort is a boutique urban resort located on Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai Resort is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are excited to welcome a new Senior Conference Service Manager to our island-inspired resort. THE JOB:

We are currently seeking an individual who wants to be part of the Kona Kai culture and serve with a purpose. As the Senior Conference Service Manager you are the key liaison between the client and the hotel to provide execution and supervision of meeting and event banquet functions. This role is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, corporate meetings, and events. Additionally, this role serves as the primary point of contact for 30% of wedding clients, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience. This dual-function position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while delivering outstanding service.

This role as Conference Service Manager requires skills such as organization, detail orientation, a positive attitude, flexibility, and a genuine desire to take care of others.

WHEN JOINING OUT TEAM AS THE Senior Conference Service Manager, YOU WILL RECEIVE:

  • Pay Range of $80,000 - $85,000 annually
  • Potential annual incentive payout of 0%-33% of base compensation, subject to plan terms and performance criteria.

Requirements:

YOU:

To be successful in this position, we're looking for an amazing people connector, who thrives on creating experiences and problem solving, you:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Associate degree or equivalent from a 4-year institution; or two years related experience
    • Experience in hospitality & wedding industries is a plus
    • Experience with event planning, wedding vendors and venues, is a plus
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft - Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Read, write and speak English fluently
    • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other colleagues
    • Impeccable work ethic and excellent organizational, time management, communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Leadership & Communication:
    • Able to work independently and follow directives from leadership
    • Ability to plan, organize, and execute conferences, corporate meetings, and special events
  • Other Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge of wedding trends, etiquette and traditions
