About This Position
Position Summary
This is a 3 year Residency Program in accordance to the standards determined by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Residency Committee for Family Medicine (RC-FM), American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). The Hunterdon Medical Center Family Practice resident has a primary function of learning the discipline of family medicine. They will secondarily perform service in the hospital, the family health centers and the community. Comprehensive evaluation of the resident will be conducted by the residency program preceptors and residency program director. The resident must adhere to those standards and their contracts to satisfactorily graduate from the program at the discretion of the residency program director and the program preceptors.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1.In collaboration with health-care team, provide safe and effective patient care to diverse range of patients.
2.Communicate with patients and staff, verbally and otherwise in a manner that exhibits good professional judgment and good listening skills and is appropriate for the professional setting.
3.Demonstrate ability to evaluate and investigate practice and review data to make judgments and decisions regarding complicated, undifferentiated disease presentations in a timely fashion in emergency, ambulatory, and hospital settings.
4.Demonstrate timely, consistent, and reliable follow-up on patient care issues, such as laboratory results, patient phone calls, or other requests.
5.Performs accurate documentation procedures, such as chart dictation and demonstrates the ability to input and retrieve computer data.

Resident must be eligible for a Resident Training Permit for Physicians Not Licensed in the State of New Jersey.
