Position Summary
-
Responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, integrating, providing and evaluating the education, training and development of hospital employees within Surgical Services and as needed for affiliate personnel and physicians. Supports the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the organization through the integration of education with quality health care. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.Overall responsibility for the operation of the Perioperative Clinical Practice Team. Position includes supervision of program staff, program planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, development, implementation, and evaluation. Maintains open communications and is available to component organizations and practitioner sites for consultation.

Bachelor's of Nursing - Required

Experience
-
3-5 Years personnel management, program planning and program development. - Required

Three to four years experience in a position with similar responsibilities. Must have experience in personnel management, program planning and program development.

License & Certification

Registered Nursing License with State of Practice - Required

Certified Perioperative Nurse Certification (CNOR) - Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required in 90 days from date of hire

Core Job Functions
- Serves as a resource to staff in supporting service line/department focused activities. Uses peer review, observation, education and role modeling as tools for staff development. Collaborates with co-workers in implementing action plans for nurse sensitive indicator and quality metrics compliance.
- Provides structured, tiered competency based clinical experiences for new graduates. Provides consistent feedback and progress reports to the new graduate, and follow up with the nurse manager. Facilitates staff development and personal growth through peer review, observation, education and role modeling.
- Provide expense oversight and approval for the education/in-service and orientation programs and responsible for the content provided in the education/in-service and orientation programs. Provides supervision to the other clinical practice coordinators to ensure coverage of the whole department of Surgical Services.ac
