The Division of Humanities and Learning Communities is looking to hire an Adjunct Faculty member to teach English classes.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Provide instruction to students in both the theory and practice of English.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational experiences, experiential backgrounds, and learning styles in meeting course competencies.
• Evaluates students' progress towards stated course competencies and informs them of their progress in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in English or related field.
• Experience teaching various levels and sections of ENG-111 (College Writing I) and ENG-112 (College Writing II).
• Experience with high-impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
• Ability to teach courses on campus in an in-person setting at BHCC's Charlestown, Chelsea campuses, and Satellite locations.

Preferred Requirements:

• Community college teaching experience preferred.
• Availability to teach Evenings, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
• Our students come from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are committed to providing the support they need to succeed.
• While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language is preferred.

Additional Information:

Salary: $1,397 per credit hours.
