Summary
The Manager of LRS will be responsible for fostering the relationship between the ARC of Greater New Orleans and the Louisiana Rehabilitation Services program. They will also serve as the liaison between the ARC of Greater New Orleans and the Louisiana school system as they work with individuals who need an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and will work to manage the Pre-ETS program for the ARC of Greater New Orleans.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide leadership to employment services support staff and individuals receiving services to promote the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (OCDD) mission in community employment
- Cultivate and effectively utilize community resources to promote, expand, and develop employment options for people with disabilities or other employment barriers
- Utilize community businesses and work opportunities to assess the abilities of individuals with employment barriers and work to develop employment situations that match the individual’s job preferences
- Extensive knowledge of management principles and agency policies
- Complete training with Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) and the Department of Education (DOE)
- Establish working relationships between support staff, clients, employers, and co-workers to promote integration and foster success
- Understand student’s rights ensure that students and families get the services they need in the academic setting
- Develop relationships with local schools and be the liaison for Individualized Education Programs (IEP) as an education specialist and for high school Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS).
- Attend meetings to create Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and other planning meetings
- Provide telephone support to families in need
- Develop our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program and create Standardized Operating Procedures (SOP) for Pre-ETS.
- Develop relationships with the office of Louisiana Rehabilitation Services and local businesses
- Supervision of an Employment Specialist including performance management, professional development opportunities, and approving weekly schedules and timecards
- Learn and retain the Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) milestones and the billing processes involved
- Track metrics for financials regarding Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS), and the Department of Education (DOE).
- Know and utilize the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards, Center for Medicaid and Medicaid Services (CMS), and Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) to ensure best practices
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required in any field, preferably in education or social services
- 4 years of experience working with people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
- Experience with the Louisiana school system, Individualized Education Programs (IEP), and 504 Plans required
- Experience with Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) preferred
- Experience with supported employment or workforce development preferred

The pay range for this role is:
48,000 - 52,000 USD per year(Fontana)
