Are you considering a career in estimating? An internship can be a pivotal step in understanding the complexities and nuances of the job; fortunately, we do just that!

Estimating is a skill that combines analytical prowess with industry knowledge. As an intern, you’ll start by grasping the basics:

1. Understanding Contracts
2. Cost Estimation
3. Reviews project documents and coordinates with the project team to provide a complete scope of work
4. Performs takeoff, quantity survey, and pricing of project systems
5. Evaluation of construction means and methods / communicates areas of risk with operations
6. Review work of the estimating interns assigned to the project and ensure accuracy, completeness, and prompt completion of assignments
7. Participate in project briefings and debriefings
8. Additional duties include updating subcontractors and suppliers in the company solicitation software, assisting in maintaining department unit price database, historical cost database, and other systems

Real-World Experience

1. Sophomore or Junior Year Students
2. Desire to stay in the Central Illinois area post-graduation (our ideal candidate will join the team permanently!)
3. Year-round internship opportunities
4. 4-year degree being pursued in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Similar Field is ideal
