About This Position
The Controls Engineer Intern offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automation, control systems, and electrical design. The intern will assist with programming, testing, troubleshooting, and implementing control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes, while working closely with experienced engineers.
Controls Engineer Intern Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and programming of PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
- Support testing, debugging, and validation of control systems and automation equipment.
- Create and update documentation including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on control system integration projects.
- Provide support in troubleshooting and resolving electrical or automation issues.
Controls Engineer Intern Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to CAD software for electrical design
- Basic knowledge of PLC programming, ladder logic, or other automation programming languages.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring, and instrumentation is preferred.
