About This Position

Senior Engineer, Manufacturing

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at NH Ball Bearings. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating manufacturing processes to minimize production costs while ensuring high quality product that meets tolerancing standards and specifications. With your excellent communication skills, you will lead large or multiple projects, oversee assigned engineers and check the work for accuracy. You will provide professional presentations and consultation to both internal and external partners at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and mentor newer engineers on design for manufacturability analysis of components and bearings.
  • Partner with stakeholders to design solutions for customers.
  • Lead development and implementation of production and tooling processes for bearing assemblies and components.
  • Analyze existing processes to develop, implement and monitor measures to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Develop and release manufacturing plans and detailed work instructions from 2D drawing-based engineering, and from 3D model-based engineering.
  • Communicate timelines for program development and review, change requests, and proactively manage task execution.
  • Manage capital equipment acquisition.
  • Resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Support coordination and participate in Kaizen events, implementing LEAN principles and technologies, and measuring results.
  • Lead multiple or large scale projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-function teams to learn and share best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations.

Job Skills & Abilities

  • Relevant technical and computer skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks, MS Access, and Excel).
  • Highly skilled at blueprint reading, engineering drawing interpretation and tolerancing.
  • Highly self-motivated with demonstrated problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with employees at all levels of the company and external clients; written and/or verbally.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Education and Experience Required

  • A four year degree in engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in aerospace industry is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to physically lift up to 40lbs, when necessary.
