About This Position
Description:
SUMMARY:
This position performs full-cycle accounting functions and provides analytical support for multiple Tavistock Group affiliated companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day to day accounts payable support, obtain proper approval, ensure proper coding and process payments, including expense reports
- Prepare monthly accounts receivable invoices and distribute
- Communicate with customers and vendors and maintain files and documentation
- Post journal entries to general ledger in the accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks)
- Ensure W9 compliance with vendors and prepare annual 1099’s
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end/year-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
- Inter-company transactions and reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and analysis
- Prepare, file, and pay monthly sales tax for appropriate entities
- Provide monthly cash projection for funding
- Post payroll journal entries
- Record fixed assets and related depreciation
- Make remote bank deposits
- Prepare and monitor budget
- Assist with documenting and organizing accounting policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Associates 2 year degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in accounting required
- Must have accounts payable experience
- Some accounts receivable experience preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel
- Automated accounting systems experience required
- Microsoft Dynamics GP and QuickBooks required
- Sage FAS 100 preferred
- Must have a demonstrated ability to maintain good relations with employees, supervisors and the public and have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must work well in a team environment and be willing to take on additional responsibilities, when necessary, to assist in meeting Team deadlines
- Must be able to multi-task and have the flexibility to reorganize priorities as needed
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above. Must be physically able to sit and use the computer for hours at a time
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
