Nurse Manager – Ortho/Neuro Unit
Kootenai Health is seeking an experienced and inspiring Nurse Manager to lead our dynamic Ortho/Neuro Unit, caring for a diverse mix of orthopedic, neurosurgical, trauma, seizure, and general medical patients. About the Unit
Our Ortho/Neuro Unit provides specialized care for:
- Orthopedic trauma and elective joint surgeries
- Neurosurgical patients recovering from craniotomies, laminectomies, and spinal procedures
- Neurology patients including TBIs, seizure disorders requiring EEG monitoring, and other complex conditions
- General medical and trauma patients with varying acuity

What You’ll Do
- Lead and support a talented team of nurses and CNAs
- Oversee daily operations, staffing, and resource management
- Drive quality, safety, and evidence‑based practice
- Foster a positive, professional, and growth‑oriented culture
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure exceptional patient outcomes
- Support strategic initiatives and shared decision‑making
What We’re Looking For
- BSN required; Master’s degree preferred
- Current RN license (Idaho or compact‑eligible)
- Minimum 3 years of charge nurse or leadership experience
- Strong clinical background in acute care; neuro or ortho experience a plus
- Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and support staff development
- BLS required
