Job Overview:
The Revenue Cycle Liaison I is responsible for the organization of all intra/interdepartmental communication between Operations; this includes, but is not limited to Medical Group Administration, Faculty Leadership, and Clinical Operations and the Central Business Office. The primary goal of the Revenue Cycle Liaison is to ensure practice satisfaction, accountability, and operational support as it relates to the success of the Revenue Cycle. The ideal candidate should be broad-minded, observant, adaptable, and has a strong desire to support others to achieve shared success. The Revenue Cycle Liaison I uses the understanding of Revenue Cycle to perform job duties and may need some guidance as they learn the appropriate options available to address unusual situations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in healthcare operations or accounting/financial practices
- Proficient in all MS Office Products
- Basic MS Excel skills required
- Proficient communication & interpersonal skills
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full-Time, Salaried position– 37.5 hours a week
- Travel to Oceanport, NJ as needed
- Some travel may be required throughout the healthcare system for on-site collaboration.
Essential Functions:
- Develops and maintains current knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management for both Physician and Hospital Billing.
- Utilizes this knowledge to develop a relationship with internal and external teams ensuring clear communication and alignment on objectives.
- The Revenue Cycle Liaison will use their advanced knowledge of Revenue Cycle to function independently, determining opportunity and need for, scheduling, and leading multidepartment strategic meetings as it relates to physician registration, billing and coding accuracy and opportunity for denial trending and reduction planning.
- The Liaison is responsible for fact finding, the creation of the agenda, driving productive resolution focused discussion, summarizing, and sending notes with next steps.
- Partners with Clinical, Revenue Integrity, Coding, Billing & Collection staff to improve processes and maximize reimbursement.
- Coordinates with the practices to assist with troubleshooting complex questions, resolving inquires and address patient and or practice concerns.
- Promotes teamwork across the organization. Provides timely, accurate, and professional responses to the clinical and operational teams.
- Monitors revenue cycle metrics for charge review, claim edit and follow-up work queues, accounts receivable, claims, collections, and reimbursement trends for assigned departments and recommends improvements accordingly.
- In coordination with Revenue Cycle Leadership, contributes to internal improvement projects, best practices, and recommendations to be leveraged within Revenue Cycle.
- Proactively works with operations on denial improvement, charge lag, clean claim rate, charge review, claim edit and follow-up work queues.
- Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions.
- Organizes work sets priorities with a minimum of supervision and seeks guidance as appropriate.
- Participates in ongoing education as required.
