About This Position

The Temporary Core/RC Logger plays a key role in supporting the geology team by accurately documenting, organizing, and maintaining geological information from both active and historic drilling programs. This position is essential to ensuring high‑quality geological datasets that guide exploration and mine‑planning decisions. Responsibilities include logging RC chips and core, relogging archived materials to modern standards, capturing high‑resolution core photographs, and maintaining well‑organized core storage areas. The role also involves entering geological data into digital systems such as Excel, acQuire, or other geological databases; assisting with sampling, labeling, bagging, and preparing materials for assay submission; and conducting sample pickups and drill‑site visits as needed. The Logger is expected to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient core logging facility, communicate effectively with geologists and team members, identify and report discrepancies in historic or current datasets, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, efficiency, and data quality. Additional duties may be assigned based on project needs and the individual’s skills.

Qualified Candidates will ideally hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field and possess knowledge of rock types, alteration styles, and mineral identification in RC chips and core. Previous experience in RC/core logging or geological fieldwork is preferred, along with familiarity in geological terminology, logging methods, and data entry tools. Experience with geological databases or logging software is considered an asset. The role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team. Candidates must be able to manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment, maintain a positive and adaptable attitude, and hold a valid driver’s license with the ability to work in remote field locations.

This position requires the physical ability to lift and move core boxes weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly, perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motions, and stand or walk for extended periods on uneven ground. Tasks may involve climbing ladders or stairs, unloading RC samples from drill rigs, and wearing required PPE, including respirators for specific activities. Work is performed at an active rural mine site in Eureka, NV, with logging conducted in a core shack, warehouse, or outdoor areas depending on conditions. The environment includes exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and weather extremes such as heat, cold, wind, and dust. The schedule consists of 10‑hour shifts and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and coverage for employee absences. The role demands a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and maintaining a positive, professional work environment while responding quickly to changing priorities and drilling schedules.
