About This Position
GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing annual U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including quarterly estimated tax payments. The role also assists in preparing the U.S. quarterly and year‑end tax provisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC guidelines, as well as reviewing foreign tax provisions prepared by regional finance teams.To gain international exposure, the Senior Tax Analyst will work with the Senior Director of Tax in Ireland to prepare Irish tax returns, tax payments, and Country-by-Country reports. The position also supports various tax accounting and compliance projects and contributes to the maintenance of departmental tax accounting systems and applications.Additional responsibilities include supporting property and sales/use tax filings, conducting tax research, and assisting tax leadership across the full tax lifecycle, including compliance, accounting, controversy, and planning. The Senior Tax Analyst will collaborate with members of the global finance team as needed.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Prepare U.S. federal and state income tax returns; compute quarterly estimated tax payments; and support domestic tax planning initiatives. Model U.S. tax outcomes based on forecasted results, potential legislative changes, and prospective business transactions. Compile domestic and review foreign quarterly and year‑end tax provision calculations, including current/deferred tax splits, balance sheet tax account projections, and state tax provisions. Help administer and maintain departmental tax compliance software and identify opportunities to enhance tax accounting and compliance processes. Stay current on federal, state, and international tax developments through professional resources, seminars, and continuing education. Maintain working knowledge of Dole’s domestic and international operations; serve as a liaison to finance teams to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements. Assist in evaluating uncertain tax positions. Support domestic tax audits and respond to tax notices as needed. Perform special tax projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.Conduct tax research using Checkpoint and other available resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience with income tax compliance and accounting Ability to remain current on U.S. federal and state tax law changes Strong understanding of GAAP financial reporting Knowledge of ASC 740 / FIN 48 (Accounting for Income Taxes) Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with management and departments throughout the organizationStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed information while maintaining an understanding of broader business impacts
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
BS degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Taxation
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting and/or a CPA license Public accounting experience Experience with ONESOURCE suite of tax software such as ONESOURCE Income Tax, ONESOURCE Tax Provision, and Global AccessExperience with HFM
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSedentary work – the ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of timeLight lifting of 10–25 lbs such as files, small boxes, or office materials
WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT The normal hours of work will be 8:30 am to 5.30 pm, Monday through Friday, but due to the nature of the business, these hours and days may vary, and the role requires the employee to be flexible as the position demands.
