About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY
McCarthy is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a full-time Assistant Design Manager position. Applicant must possess 5 years of substantial drafting & 3D modeling experience and will need to demonstrate the ability to oversee and manage multiple projects throughout the project life cycle. Applicant must also have be able to work in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment while meeting project deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Import, review and process survey field data.
- Prepare project base setups for design staff.
- Perform Quality Control for all 2D Utility Exhibits and 3D Utility Models generated by design staff.
- Participate in project kickoff & final Quality Control meetings.
- Assign, oversee, and manage weekly workload to design staff.
- Manage schedule of final deliverables across multiple projects and deliverables.
- Works with partners to improve design processes and workflows of Design Department.
- Collaborate with Field Operations Manager to ensure seamless transition of survey field data to office personnel.
- Coordinate with Survey teams by providing control data and layout files upon request.
- Provide constructive feedback to design department in support of QA/QC procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Safety Oriented
- Background in Civil Engineering Site Design
- Background in Land Surveying principles
- Strong critical thinking and trouble shooting skills
- Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
- Experience with Trimble Business Center
- Experience with Revizto Integrated Collaboration Platform
- Solid understanding of the BIM process
- ArcGIS experience (preferred)
- Understanding of design and construction of subsurface utility infrastructure
- Experience in importing, translating and rotating survey points to project control
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to adapt new tools and technologies to keep project deliverables up to date with continuously evolving industry.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with strict attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Time Management skills to effectively meet project deadlines.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
