COMPANY OVERVIEW
C&C Produce has operated the Midwest's Largest Produce Warehouse located in North Kansas City since 1992. We deliver fresh produce to schools, restaurants, grocery stores, distribution centers, and healthcare facilities.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Pricing Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining disciplined, data-driven pricing strategies within a high-volatility fresh produce environment. This role ensures accurate, competitive, and profitable customer pricing by translating fluctuating costs and market conditions into margin-protective pricing decisions. The position serves as the internal subject matter expert for weekly pricing, contract and GPO compliance, and pricing analytics that directly impact revenue and gross margin performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekly Pricing Management
- Develop, maintain, and distribute weekly pricing files across all customer segments
- Adjust pricing based on grower costs, freight fluctuations, and market conditions
- Validate cost inputs and ensure pricing accuracy prior to release
- Communicate pricing updates internally in a timely and structured manner
- Contract & GPO Compliance
- Interpret and manage pricing within GPO, school, and bid-based contracts
- Monitor compliance with contracted markup structures and pricing terms
- Identify, investigate, and resolve pricing discrepancies
- Serve as the internal escalation point for contract-related pricing questions
Margin Protection & Financial Analysis
- Monitor gross margin performance by customer, category, and SKU
- Identify pricing leakage and analyze root causes
- Conduct cost-to-serve and profitability analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly margin reports with variance explanations
Shortage & Exception Pricing
- Establish and manage pricing processes during supply disruptions
- Document substitutions and market-driven price adjustments
- Coordinate with Procurement and Sales to ensure pricing accuracy during volatile conditions
- Maintain audit documentation for contract deviations and market exceptions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Procurement, Sales, Inventory, Accounting, and Operations
- Provide pricing insights and reporting to leadership for strategic decision-making
- Support bid preparation, renewals, and pricing strategy development
- Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing systems and internal processes
REQUIRED
- 5+ years of experience in wholesale produce distribution, foodservice distribution, grocery pricing, or other commodity-based pricing environments
- Direct experience managing pricing in a fluctuating cost environment
- Experience working with contract pricing structures and/or GPO agreements
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, nested formulas, data analysis tools)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
PREFERRED
- Experience within fresh produce markets
- Familiarity with USDA market reports
- ERP pricing system experience (Microsoft Business Central, Aptean, or similar)
- Experience building dashboards or business intelligence reporting tools
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Supply Chain, or related field

Extended hours, evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required based on operational needs and on-call responsibilities.
