Accountant I at University Medical Center of El Paso – El Paso, Texas

Job Description:

The Accountant I performs a variety accounting assignments requiring sound knowledge of accounting theory and analytical functions. Responsible for accurate, efficient and timely completion of assignments and preserving the privacy of confidential matters. Maintains integrity of accounts and the viability of the general ledger system. Assists with the monthly closing process and the development and reporting financial data along with analysis for special reporting.

Required Skills:

1. Knowledge and proficient ability to use excel, word and power point.
2. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
3. Knowledge of accounting and/or budgeting activities in a hospital setting preferred.
4. Knowledge of computer and accounting systems.
5. Ability to apply financial analytical skills.
6. Ability to apply effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Ability to apply effectively organizational and time management skills.
8. Ability to work in a Team oriented setting.

Work Experience:

One year of experience in accounting preferred.

License/Registration/Certification:

None.

Education and Training:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
