About This Position
Kickstart Your Career in SurveyingGain hands-on experience in both the field and office as you collect, process, and map survey data that supports land development projects across the region. About the RoleBohler’s Melville, NY office is seeking a Survey Technician Intern for the Summer of 2026 who is ready to learn how survey data translates into the designs that shape communities. You’ll work closely with field crews and office staff to gather, analyze, and process data for a variety of land-development projects, gaining exposure to every step from collection to final mapping. Pay TransparencyActual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.The base pay range for this role is $18 – $23 per hour.

Compensation and BenefitsIn addition to base pay, we offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees, including:
- Prepare ALTA/ACSM Land Title, Boundary, Topographic, and As-Built Surveys.
- Create surveys from field-crew data collector files, field sketches, digital photos, and reference maps.
- Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points.
- Operate Trimble total stations, GPS units, and data collectors under the direction of the crew chief.
- Perform field calculations and site sketches; capture photographs to document conditions.
- Upload and download files between field equipment and office systems.
- Coordinate project requirements with team members and assist in meeting deadlines.
- Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Comply with company policies and standards; perform other duties as assigned.
- Learn directly from experienced surveyors and engineers who invest in your growth.
- Apply classroom knowledge to real-world survey and design projects.
- Develop technical skills using industry-standard equipment and software.
- Explore career paths within surveying and civil engineering.
- Build connections across disciplines that will support your future success.
- Pursuing a 2 year or 4 year degree.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
