Accounting Manager at EBS Recruiters LLC – St. Louis, Missouri

The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions while serving as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. This role leads accounting operations, manages and develops staff, and ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and client-focused, with the ability to lead a team and operate effectively in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and assist with system automation initiatives
• Support the budgeting process and financial planning activities
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; assist with hiring and training as needed
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and ensure clear communication across teams
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, company policies, and internal controls
• Maintain financial spreadsheets and reporting tools to support business operations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• CPA preferred
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff
• Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems (ERP experience preferred)
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
