Job Description

The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is the thought leader and visionary responsible for establishing and guiding the over-all philosophy and strategy of comprehensive Investment Management, culture, and risk appetite within Wealth Management. The CIO is the face and champion of the Investment Management approach to wealth clients, other internal bank clients, prospects and centers of influence. As the lead expert, the CIO attracts and retains new clients and assets under management.
The CIO leads a team of professionals that have responsibilities including: all facets of implementing, managing and monitoring activities related to investment management, conducting securities and manager due diligence research, evaluating investment performance, working with external industry partners and maintaining positive investor relationships. The CIO also develops and maintains investment and risk management policies appropriate for the fiduciary asset management environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes and owns the vision, overall investment strategy and risk appetite in investment management, in coordination with internal senior level committees.
  • Leads the Investment Management Group and participates in various senior level committees.
  • Develops existing and new investment strategies based on company’s philosophy and client profiles
  • Maintains expertise on current developments in financial markets and related global economics.
  • Participates in high-value client and prospect meetings.
  • Active and committed to conducting original research and publishing white papers.
  • Participates in the strategic planning and decision making for the group.
  • Maintains an investment culture dedicated to prudent fiduciary and risk management standards.
  • Oversees and guides all securities and investment manager due diligence and asset allocation and risk models.
  • Sources and vets specific private capital investments.
  • Oversees or manages all investment related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or related fields required
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required and CFP, CIMA or other advanced accreditations highly desired in addition to the CFA.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct experience in the industry or related industries required
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in leading teams required
  • Prior experience as CIO is highly desired.
  • Expert knowledge of investment strategies, investment solutions, private markets, and the wealth management industry required
  • Demonstrated ability for business development
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Essential Functions
