Job Description: Summer Legal Intern
Position Type: Full-time, Temporary mid-June early August
Position Summary:
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Summer Legal Intern to join our General Counsel s Office for a full-time internship from mid-June through early August.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in health care law and shadow a senior attorney.
The intern will also have the unique opportunity to attend Legal Department meetings with the System s Deputy General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer, providing valuable exposure to legal strategy and decision-making at the executive level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with legal research, writing, and analysis on a broad range of health care legal issues, including regulatory compliance, risk management, contracts, and employment matters
- Shadow and support multiple senior attorneys on active legal matters
- Review and help draft NDAs, contracts, policies, and other legal documents
- Attend and observe Legal Department meetings with senior leadership, including the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer
- Participate in special projects and presentations as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited law school and have completed at least one year of study - 1L or higher
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated interest in health law, health care compliance, or related areas is preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Internship Details:
- Full-time generally 35-40 hours per week
- Duration: Early July through mid-August
- This is a paid internship
