About This Position
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the general accounting functions, including expense/payroll payments, revenue recognitions, account reconciliations, journal entries and month-end and year-end close processes. This position ensures accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls and adherence to accounting policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager works extensively in cloud-based general ledger and property management systems, leads and develops accounting team members, and collaborates with auditors and senior leadership to support business planning, compliance, and continuous process improvement. This role plays a key part in the company’s annual audit and other special projects as assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Work extensively in cloud-based general ledger accounting and property management software systems.
- Prepare and post journal entries for general accruals and others, including but not limited to cost allocations, amortization, leases, debt and interest payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income taxes and payroll.
- Perform bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, accrued expenses, and prepaid expenses.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, bank balances, and transfers to ensure liquidity and optimize the use of company funds.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Lead and develop accounting team members by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with auditors and senior leadership to support business planning and compliance initiatives.
- Play a key role in the company’s annual external audit.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with cloud-based accounting systems and property management software preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage month-end and year-end close processes accurately and efficiently.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in financial records.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CFA certification preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role. Preferably in an accounting firm.
