Mixing Operator at Royal Chemical Company – Chattanooga, Tennessee

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

• Mix finished goods following production schedule.
• Fill and label containers.
• Record daily production on specified forms.
• Clean up work area during and at end of shift.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES OR DUTIES:

• Operate blending and processing equipment so that product meets customer product and mix instruction specifications.
• Follow all process control procedures and Mix-Person work instructions.
• Must have knowledge of possible chemical reactions.
• Follow make and pack ticket instructions.
• Filling of containers; bulk storage tanks, totes, drums and pails.
• Labeling of containers to meet customer specifications and DOT regulations.
• Operate forklift to move materials from one part of the plant to another.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment for 5-S compliance.
• General clean up duties; sweeping, squeegee floors, cleaning of mix and process equipment, operation of flooscrubber, etc.
• Must be able to multi-task; making multiple batches at same time and or fill containers.
• Understand and follow all safety rules and company policies.
• Understand all work instructions for this position.
• Help train new blenders as required.
• Any other duties assigned.

Education:

• Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, High School diploma or equivalent and/or Forklift license a plus but not required for hire.

Physical Ability:

• Lift Bags up to 55#, ability to move raw material drums that may weigh up to 500# with use of appropriate material handling devices.
