About This Position
Position Summary: The CAD Designer adds value to BAPI and the Manufacturing Team by preparing technical drawings and plans for commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) sensors, documenting and recording work.
Principle Responsibilities:
Design and model mechanical components to be used in conjunction with the sensor assemblies
- Review and interpret trade documents to assist in the design of the mechanical enclosures
- Consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts, and determine requirements of detailed working drawings
Draft detail and assemble drawings of design components, circuitry and printed circuit boards, using computer-assisted equipment or standard drafting techniques and devices.
Monitors ECO/NPR systems for follow up and task completion.
Documents drawing revision history and product standards.
Requirements:Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):
(P) Associate’s Degree, Trade or Technical School
Degrees Preferred: CAD, Mechanical Design or related apprenticeship or work experience
Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Specific Training in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):
- (R) Drafting, Laying Out, and Specifying Technical Devices, Parts, and Equipment
- (R) SolidWorks or experience with 3D CAD Software
- (P) Basic understanding of HVAC/R
- (P) Prototyping experience
Experience/Knowledge in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):
- (R) Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- (R) Some proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite and Solidworks
