Smoothie Technician at HOMETOWN COFFEE & JUICE – Glencoe, Illinois

Position Summary

As a Smoothie Technician, you'll be a key member of our FOH team, helping to prepare delicious smoothies, juices, and smoothie bowls in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You'll follow recipes, keep things organized, and ensure every ticket is prepared to perfection and accuracy. Whether you're making menu items, prepping ingredients, or working alongside your teammates, your goal is to deliver a great experience for our customers every time.

Key Responsibilities:

Execution & Ownership

• Take charge of your station, ensuring that menu items are prepared to recipe standards and served with consistency. Keep up with ticket flow ensuring preparation within target times.
• Be flexible and ready to pitch in wherever needed to support the team. Work efficiently during peak hours.
• Keep your station organized and efficient for smooth operations. Rotate stations as needed.

Teamwork & Professional Conduct

• Work closely with the FOH team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
• Support leaders by following instructions and maintaining high standards of food prep and cleanliness.
• Help create a positive, collaborative environment where everyone can succeed.

Food Preparation & Safety

• Follow recipes carefully to maintain consistency and quality.
• Ensure food is cooked and presented according to the café's standards.
• Follow safety and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment. FIFO food storage and rotation practices.

Customer Focus

• Deliver high-quality, well-prepared smoothies, juices, and smoothie bowls that meet customer expectations.
• Ensure timely service, especially during peak hours. Communication & Collaboration
• Communicate clearly with team members and kitchen leadership to keep things running smoothly.
• Be proactive in supporting teammates during busy times and helping with additional tasks when needed.

Compliance & Cost Control

• Follow portion control guidelines to help minimize waste and control food costs.
• Help track inventory and ensure supplies are used efficiently.

What You Need:

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move around the cafe for long periods.
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a high-heat environment.
• Strong knife skills and attention to detail. Qualifications
• At least 1-2 years of experience working in a busy kitchen (but we’re happy to train the right person!).
• Knowledge of food safety practices (ServSafe certification needed, can be obtained at hiring).

What You Need:

Physical Requirements

Qualifications
Al menos 1-2 años de experiencia trabajando en una cocina concurrida (¡pero estamos felices de capacitar a la persona adecuada!).
