What We Seek...

We are looking for a passionate, proactive, and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join the Supply Chain team. This person will source stock/non-stock materials that meet our quality standards as well as maintain appropriate inventory levels and supplies to support production. The ideal candidate should be able to develop strategic sourcing processes, manage suppliers, collaborate with internal departments, and ensure supplier purchase orders are delivered on time.

Job Summary and Job Functions

  • Purchase direct and indirect materials and services including print materials, hardware accessories, and general supplies
  • Create, update, and issue purchase orders in the ERP system while confirming supplier quotes, lead times, and shipping details
  • Monitor open purchase orders and communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery dates and expedite orders when needed
  • Work with Operations, Sales, Materials, and Project Management teams to ensure materials are ordered to support project and production schedules
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels by reviewing material usage and supporting minimum and maximum inventory settings
  • Set up new suppliers and items in the ERP system and maintain accurate supplier and material records
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve order discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns
  • Support the receiving process by assisting with shipment tracking, invoice and packing slip reconciliation, and freight verification
  • Help identify alternative materials or suppliers when items are unavailable or delayed
  • Support monthly inventory activities including physical counts, reconciliation of variances, and data entry

Requirements:
  • Competitive drive and ability to work at a faster-than-average pace
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or a combination of experience and education
  • At least 2 years of work experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, planning, or project management
  • Strong written & oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good negotiation skills with the ability to consider all opportunities and options, both short and long term, when sourcing products, programs, and/or services
  • Must have the ability to multitask and reflect a positive attitude towards challenging job requirements
  • Maintains job responsibilities of programs assigned, along with any additional responsibilities assigned by the Manager
  • Superior computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Salesforce
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to work cooperatively and quickly to achieve maximum efficiency

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Work in an office and field environment
  • Airline and automobile travel may be required based upon project locations
  • Light work that includes moving or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
  • Long hours and weekends may be required at times to ensure project timelines, delivery, and installation schedules are met
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines
  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or from one worksite to another
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Performing and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work
