Job Description: Store Manager (Hourly, Non Exempt, Tip Earning Eligible)
Location: Omaha, NE
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: District/Area Manager
FLSA Status: Non Exempt (Hourly)
Tip Eligibility: Yes (while performing direct service duties)
Position Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations, financial performance, team leadership, and elevated guest experience of a LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee location.
This is a working manager role that actively participates in:
• Guest service (front counter & drive thru)
• Beverage and food production
• Team support during peak periods
Because the Store Manager regularly performs the same duties as tipped employees, this role is eligible to earn tips while on the clock when engaged in direct customer service.
Compensation
Base Hourly Rate
• $19.75 to $29.00 per hour
Bilingual Pay Differential
• +$1.00 per hour for employees who:
o Speak English AND at least one additional language (besides Spanish, see below)
o Are approved by management as actively using bilingual skills in the workplace
o Applies to all hours worked (not just service time)
• +$2.00 per hour for employees who:
o Speak English AND Spanish
o Are approved by management as actively using bilingual skills in the workplace
o Applies to all hours worked (not just service time)
Overtime
• Paid at 1.5x hourly rate for all hours worked over 40/week
• Includes bilingual differential in regular rate calculation (as required by law)
Tips
• Eligible to earn and accumulate tips while on the clock when performing direct service work
• Tips may include:
o Cash tips
o Credit card/digital tips
o Tip pool distributions (if applicable)
• No tip credit taken
o LaMar’s pays full hourly wage per Nebraska minimum wage laws
o Tips are additional compensation
Tip Participation Rules
The Store Manager:
CAN earn tips when:
• Serving guests directly
• Running POS/drive thru
• Preparing beverages or food
• Supporting team during active service
CANNOT earn tips when:
• Performing administrative duties:
o Scheduling
o Hiring
o Payroll
o Inventory planning
o Office/admin work
Break & Meal Periods
• 10 minute paid rest break for every 4 hours worked
• 30 minute unpaid meal period for shifts over 5 hours

1. Operations Leadership
• Manage all daily store operations
• Ensure compliance with:
o Health & safety regulations
o Food safety standards
o Brand SOPs
• Maintain luxury level store presentation
2. Revenue & Profitability
• Drive store toward $2M $4M+ annual revenue targets
• Manage:
o Labor %
o Food cost %
o Sales performance
• Execute upselling and premium product strategies
3. Team Leadership & Development
• Hire, train, and develop staff
• Maintain compliance with:
o Nebraska labor laws
o Equal Pay Act
o Anti discrimination policies
• Lead by example as a working manager
4. Scheduling & Labor Management
• Build efficient schedules aligned with sales
• Ensure legal compliance for:
o Breaks
o Overtime
o Wage laws
5. Guest Experience (Fast Luxe Standard)
• Deliver elevated hospitality experience
• Resolve issues immediately
• Maintain:
o Speed
o Accuracy
o Professionalism
6. Production & Quality Control
• Oversee:
o Donut production
o Beverage program
o Food consistency
• Maintain premium quality standards
7. Inventory & Supply Chain Execution
• Manage ordering and inventory
• Reduce waste and shrinkage
• Ensure vendor compliance
8. Administrative Duties
• Timekeeping and payroll approvals
• Hiring and onboarding
• Performance management
Note: Administrative time is non tipped work
Required Qualifications
• 2 5+ years of restaurant, café, or retail management experience
• Experience managing hourly teams
• Strong operational and financial understanding
• Ability to work in high volume environments
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
• Coffee/specialty beverage experience
• Bakery or donut production experience
• Drive thru operations experience
• Franchise system experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Standing for extended periods (12 14(+) hours)
• Lifting up to 50 lbs
• Early morning shifts (2:00 4:00 AM production)
• Fast paced, high volume setting
Schedule Expectations
• Full time (35 45+ hours/week)
• Must be available:
o Early mornings
o Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) Required
o Holidays
