About This Position
Position Overview:
The Logistics & Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inventory control and logistics functions to ensure accurate stock levels, efficient material flow, and on-time shipment execution. This hands-on role requires a high degree of accountability, attention to detail, and operational accuracy to effectively support production schedules and customer fulfillment activities.
Position Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory levels within ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ensuring all transactions and movements are recorded timely and accurately.
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain location accuracy, labeling standards, and lot traceability.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse efficiency.
- Provide accurate inventory data to support planning and operational readiness.
- Coordinate movement of raw materials and finished goods between warehouses to meet business requirements.
Logistics Management (inbound & outbound)
- Prepare outbound shipments by packaging, palletizing, wrapping, labeling, and staging materials according to order specifications.
- Create and process Bills of Lading (BOLs) and all related shipping documentation to ensure accurate outbound shipments and timely delivery.
- Coordinate and schedule freight pickups with LTL/FTL carriers, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to ensure cost effective transportation of goods.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments, proactively resolving delays, damage, or service issues to ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitor carrier performance and freight expenses, identifying opportunities to enhance service levels and cost control.
Systems & Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation and prepare basic inventory and logistics performance reports
- Ensure all system data is accurate, timely, and aligned with physical inventory.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• 1+ years of hands-on experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or logistics.
• Experience supporting a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Previous WMS/RF Scanner experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a 26’ dry van truck.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Experience creating BOLs and coordinating freight shipments.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse safety practices.
• Must possess strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and email communication
• The successful candidate will balance physical warehouse responsibilities with ERP-based inventory management and freight coordination
Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50–75 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Daily forklift operation.
- Work performed in warehouse and production environments.
- May require occasional extended hours to meet production or shipping deadlines.
