About This Position
Little Oaks at Oak Tree Child and Family Services provides supportive, developmentally appropriate care for children with diverse emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Our team is committed to fostering growth, stability, and success for every child we serve.
Little Oaks is seeking a compassionate and dependable Special Education Aide to support young children with a variety of developmental and mental health needs. The aide will work closely with teachers and clinical staff to help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that supports each child's growth, emotional regulation, and learning.
This role requires patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with children who may have diverse behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges.
Position Type: Part-Time – Possible Full-Time as enrollment increases
Schedule: Hours vary; flexibility required
Compensation: Pay based on experience and education
Requirements:Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers and staff in supporting children with special education and mental health needs
- Provide individualized support to children with behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges
- Help implement classroom routines, behavior support plans, and therapeutic strategies
- Support children with transitions, activities, and social interactions
- Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding student progress and needs
- Follow all program policies and procedures to ensure child safety and well-being
- Provide supervision and assistance during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Preferred: Education or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or Mental Health
- Experience working with young children, particularly those with mental health diagnoses or developmental needs, is strongly preferred
- Ability to remain patient, calm, and supportive in challenging situations
- Must be loving, dependable, reliable, professional, and flexible
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

- Ability to adapt to varying schedules and program needs
- Commitment to maintaining a supportive and respectful environment for children and families
- Must not be a former or current client of Oak Tree
