About This Position

The Receiving & Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the inventory at a warehouse. Expected to keep track of shipment schedules for both incoming and outgoing shipments, track inventory counts and check the items in inventory for damages or discrepancies. Other duties include ensuring inventory counts are up to date, logging all inventory in Epicor, and ensuring that quantities of products, materials, supplies, and equipment are maintained at all times.

Receiving:
• Read and understand packing list, bill of lading and shipping/receiving instructions.
• Receive daily packages by sorting upon arrival and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders etc.
• Bulk receives large shipments of one, to many pallets of product.
• Operate tow motor to move material to proper departments or areas.
• Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, wear required PPE, maintain and use equipment following all safety regulations as required.

Inventory Control:
• Properly utilize RF scan device.
• Scan bar coded product in/out of bin locations to keep accurate tracking of inventory movements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular data entry utilizing Epicor.
• Perform cycle counts and inventory counts as required.
• Follows safety protocols and guidelines when handling and storing parts, particularly for hazardous and sensitive materials.
• Comply with company policies and regulations related to inventory management and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies

 Demonstrate basic math and computer skills.
 Must be organized and detail oriented.
 Ability to work both individually and in a team environment.
 Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
 Possess a sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the elements of the outside depending on the season. Maybe exposed to varying temperatures. The environment is an active plant with continuous noises from equipment inside the plant.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. The employee must be able to lift and or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
(Subject to change based on business demands)

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• A minimum of one year’s experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience in shipping and or receiving department preferred.
• Ability to be certified as Licensed Forklift Truck Operator/Tow Motor Operator.
