$21.22 - $31.06 an hour - Per Diem Days, Various hours per week
*Range Includes per diem Differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant Senior who may be responsible for performing moderately complex testing. Rotation through specimen processing area may be required.

Qualifications:
•Effective January 2018 high school diploma or higher education diploma required and
•Six years clinical laboratory experience in general processing, in-patient phlebotomy or out-patient phlebotomy or
•Three years clinical laboratory experience and two years experience in the medical field such as: MA, EMT/Medic, OR/ER technician, nursing (CNA, LPN, RN) or
•Military laboratory training program and two years clinical laboratory experience or
•Completion of a certified phlebotomy course and two years clinical laboratory experience or
•Any combination of two listed below:
a. Completion of a competency checklist in the “Send Out” area and six months experience rotating through “Send Out” area
b. Completion of a competency checklist for performing waived or moderately complex testing and six months experience performing waived or moderately complex testing
c. Completion of a competency checklist for performing Micro Aide processes and six months experience performing Micro Aide processes.
d. Completion of a competency checklist for Inpatient phlebotomy and six months experience performing inpatient phlebotomy.
e. Completion of a competency checklist for performing Breath Alcohol/Urine Drug screen collections and six months experience collecting Breath Alcohol/Urine Drug screen collections.
f. Completion of a competency checklist for Laboratory Customer Service Center and six months experience rotating through the Laboratory Customer Service Center.
•Consistent rotations through “Send Out” bench, Micro Aide duties, Waived/Moderately complex testing work areas, Inpatient phlebotomy, BAT/UDS collections or Customer Service Center are required in order to maintain LAIII job status.
Responsibilities:
•Performs clerical duties.
•Maintains laboratory equipment in optimal operating condition.
•Responsible for accurate patient registration and specimen accessioning.
•Maintains clean and orderly work area.
•Observes safety regulations and other related hospital policies.
•Maintains professional image and behavior resulting in cooperative courteous relationships with co-workers, hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
•Helps maintain satisfactory inventory of supplies required for testing and processing of specimens.
•Responsible for distribution of supplies to clients.
•Contributes to the improvement of departmental processes and procedures
•Perform specimen collection and processing.
