About This Position
Location of Employment: 10th Judicial District, Johnson County, KS
Position/Salary: Trial Court Clerk III, Grade 21, $19.99 hourly
Work week requirements: Full-time, 40 hr./week, Mon-Fri, 8am – 5pm, year-round, in-person

Job duties:
This is a lead worker position in the Clerk of the District Court Office. This position requires leadership abilities. Duties include providing guidance and information to staff; responsible for case management and processing of caseloads; working with the public in routine and difficult situations; establishing/maintaining effective communication with District Court employees, judges, public and other agencies; serving as backup to the department supervisor; and other duties as assigned.
Required education and experience:
Graduation from high school and one-year experience in clerical work.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Computer experience, organizational skills, and time management skills are essential. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to understand court procedures, policies and Kansas laws and make decisions accordingly. Ability to work collaboratively with court staff and other stakeholders. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Exemplary customer service skills a plus.
Preferred qualifications:
Courteous, professional and cooperative. Knowledge of the court system or legal experience is a plus.
